Marthe Aston
Marthe Aston is a designer, researcher, artist, coordinator and communicator with over 20 years of experience in interior and exhibition design, with a side trip into arts outreach education for a few years. She loves to take projects from start to finish keeping them organized and the design detailed. She is inspired and amazed by beauty both naturally occurring and constructed, from the simplicity of shadows or leaves on the ground to constructed art historical references. Her ability to see “out of the box” solutions allows Marthe to conquer design challenges with creative and memorable results, from the overall concept and space plan through the details of individual objects.
Marthe began her education in architecture, but after working on airplane interiors for a summer, she discovered her love of design for interior spaces rather than for the exterior envelope. However, with this said, she adores older buildings, which is why she started in architecture in the first place, so went on to study them as well – her MA thesis on Diocletian's Palace Gates was even put up for an award. Thus, she holds an AS degree in Engineering Design Technology from the University of Nevada, Reno, a BS degree with High Honors in Design and an MA in Art History, both from University of California at Davis. Marthe also has her NCIDQ certificate and is an RID in Texas.
